A WDM 3A locomotive from the Gonda shed hauls the train from Gorakhpur Junction to Jhansi Junction after which a Bhusaval based WAP 4 haules the train until Igatpuri from where a WCAM 3 or a WCAM 2/2P from the Kalyan shed takes over until Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

With Central Railways progressively moving towards a complete changeover from DC to AC traction, it is now hauled by a Bhusaval based WAP 4 or Ajni based WAP 7 between Jhansi Junction until Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
