Gonadal vein

In medicine, gonadal vein refers to the blood vessel that carries blood away from the gonad (testis, ovary) toward the heart.

  • Females : ovarian vein
  • Males : testicular vein
  • The left gonadal vein drains into the left renal vein, whereas the right drains directly into the inferior vena cava
