Gollobordë (Bulgarian: Голо Бърдо and Macedonian: Голо Брдо; definite Albanian form: Golloborda) refers to a geographical area situated primarily in eastern Albania, with a small portion consisting of two villages lying within the Republic of Macedonia. This region is located within the Dibër and Elbasan counties which contain both Macedonian and Albanian villages. This area contains a Macedonian minority (of mixed Orthodox Christian and Islamic confession) of about 5,000 to 30,000 and also smaller numbers of Aromanians, Bulgarians and Turks. The official report from Albania is that there is only an ethnic Macedonian minority recognized among the South Slavic nationalities. The region was divided in 1925 between Albania and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
