God Is Alone is the first EP by death/doom metal band My Dying Bride, and was released in 1991. It was released as a 7" vinyl on France-based independent label Listenable Records, and limited to 1,000 copies.

Contents

The EP saw the band approached by Peaceville Records, who offered them a recording contract. My Dying Bride have been recording for Peaceville ever since.

Both tracks were re-recorded as B-Sides for the band's first release with Peaceville, "Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium" the following year. The original versions have never been commercially re-released, unlike the rest of the band's rare material.

As a side note, God Is Alone is also the title to an underground movie written and directed by Jason Torrey in 2004. The movie was never officially published due to the copyright infringements for using music by My Dying Bride, Opeth, Morbid Angel, God Dethroned, Slayer, and Shadows Fall. Aaron Stainthorpe, the singer of My Dying Bride, owns his own copy of the movie; it was given to him by the director of the film when it was discovered by Stainthorpe from information on the internet.
