Glyphipterix quadragintapunctata is a species of sedge moth in the genus Glyphipterix. It was described by Dyar in 1900. It is found in North America, including Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The habitat consists of low, shaded deciduous forest.

The wingspan is 12 mm. There is one generation per year. Adults have been observed on the upperside of the leaves of Urtica dioica, which is thought to be the host plant.
