History

Established in 2001, the main business of Global Aviation is the leasing of and operating of aircraft. Global Airways's main strategy is to offer fully crewed, maintained and insured aircraft (ACMI).

Global Airways operated flights between Johannesburg and Miami until 2004, citing 'political commitments" as a reason for ceasing operations on that route. In August 2013, CEO Ron Finger announced plans to resume services between Johannesburg and Miami via Cape Town in late 2013 or early 2014 using an Airbus A330 on that route. This however never happened.
