Origin

In 1997 a radically new technology for making glass nail files was invented in the Czech Republic, using hardened Bohemian glass. The special procedure of thermal hardening resulted in advantages such as excellent shock-proofness and an extremely durable polishing surface. It had fine-grained steady abrasive surface, which allowed to grind ones nails without any pain and damaging fingernails structure. And by 1998 Czech glass nail file have already got enough popularity around the world and became the most sellable nail file in Europe.

Production technology

Glass nail file - a file for fingernails care is made of Czech glass. In the course of manufacturing, the material is tempered with the traditional methods which were applied by Bohemian glaziers for centuries by now. As a result, such nail file gains unique wear resistance. Nail files which are made of tempered glass can withstand strong falls onto the floor and intensive daily use. If such nail file breaks - it's safe-to-touch pieces.

Production of glass nail files is a step-by-step process

  • manufacturing of glass sheets of particular size with smooth surface;
  • cutting nail files out of the sheets;
  • processing of the glass surface, chemical etching for obtaining the fine-grained abrasive surface;
  • turning blade edges to give it safety;
  • Thermal tempering of glass to give it firmness;
  • The final stages of production – nail file decorating:
  • coloring which is fixed by the means of thermal processing;
  • more complicated and refined ways of a decor – hand painting, printing, engraving and incrustation with crystals;
  • Types and sizes

    Dimensions of the glass nail files can also be different - from the smallest (length 99 mm, thickness 2 mm) to maximally large (length 195 mm, 3–4 mm thick).

    Types and sizes of a glass nail file: Glass nail files of the big sizes are used, as a rule, for a pedicure. There are also produced the special glass nail files for daily use, for example, by masters in beauty salons.Such nail files have only one working side, so as not to injure the manicure masters' fingers skin.

    Distinctive features

    Mild care: Due to the granular surface the glass nail file doesn't injure fingernails during manicure, grinding them softly and smoothly. At continuous use of such nail file, fingernails become stronger and cease to stratify.

    Hygiene: Glass nail file is quickly and easily disinfected. It is actually enough to wash it in warm water using soap. At frequent use of this manicure tool in the environment of beauty salon, nail files undergo the procedure of boiling for additional cleaning, thus neither the tool, nor its decor are damaged.

    Unique Wear resistance: the granular surface of a glass nail file isn't erased even at its use within several years. Depth of the working surface's relief decreases much more slower, than at the same use on a usual metal nail file.

    Density: Hardened bohemian glass is known for its durability.
