Rizza went through the Juventus youth system, and, after graduating, was sold to Juve Stabia in the former Italian Serie C1 in a co-ownership deal. In June 2008, his co-ownership was resolved, and he returned to Juventus for €50,000, but, along with several other youth players, was loaned out to Serie B teams. Rizza, along with Francesco Volpe, was sold on co-ownership deals to A.S. Livorno Calcio, who had recently been relegated to Serie B following a poor Serie A campaign. The cost was thought to be around €25,000. Rizza made 7 league appearances for Livorno during the 2008–09 Serie B campaign.

Rizza was sold permanently by Juventus in June 2009, for an undisclosed fee, with Juventus profiting €86,000. The transfer fee was in the region of €110,000. Upon his permanent transfer to Livorno, Rizza was loaned out to A.C. Arezzo in July, after Livorno were promoted back to Serie A. With Arezzo, however, Rizza made just 11 appearances in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione during the 2009–10 season. After returning to Livorno at the conclusion of the campaign, Rizza was sent on loan to U.S. Pergocrema ahead of the 2010–11 Serie B campaign, after Livorno's relegation back to Serie B. With the third division club (Pergocrema), Rizza earned a starting position, and appeared in 15 matches during the first half of the season. In January 2011, however, Rizza joined his former club, Juve Stabia, who also played in the Lega Pro Prima Divisione at the time, on a 6-month loan deal. With the gialloblu, Rizza only managed 3 appearances in the league. Juve Stabia did, however, gain promotion to Serie B that season. He returned to Livorno on 30 June 2011, but was simultaneously re-loaned out to U.S. Pergocrema once more. During the entirety of the 2011–12 Lega Pro season, Rizza made 16 league appearances. He began the season as a starter, but a mid-season injury kept him out of action for much of January, February, and March of 2012.

A.S.G. Nocerina

On 3 July 2012, Rizza officially completed a permanent transfer to A.S.G. Nocerina, following their relegation from Serie B to the Lega Pro Prima Divisione.
