Biography
He was a student and later taught at the Academy of Fine Arts, Florence. As a student, he had studied under Enrico Pollastrini. Among his works is a painting of Benedetto Varchi Reads His Storia Fiorentina to Cosimo I (1862) and Suitor's Plea. Among his pupils were Alfredo Müller, Cesare Laurenti, Augusto Bastianini, Angiolo Tommasi and the Bulgarian artist Anton Mitov.
