Gio dee mind yo business

David Appolon (born March 8, 1992), best known by his stage name Gio Dee, is an American hip-hop artist/songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts. He is the leader of the Chef Boyz, a music group based out of the greater Boston Area. Appolon's success thus far can be attributed to his "Mind Yo Business" EP which was released in December 2015 featuring Metro Boomin, Madeintyo, Iamsu, and TM88. Not only is "Gio Dee" and play on words with GOD, similar to "Eminem" is with Marshal Mathers, it also means means God is Gracious in Italian (Gio). David in the bible means beloved musician. So he put the two together and it means “God's Gracious Beloved musician.”

Gio dee bout it official music video

Overview

Boston rapper, Gio Dee, garnered national attention when social media sensation, Jerry Purpdrank, posted his “Mind Yo Business” song on a Vine that ultimately went viral. Since then, Gio’s “Mind Yo Business” music video has skyrocketed to over 900 thousand views on YouTube. Just weeks before Christmas, 2015, Gio released his Mind Yo Business EP, which features production by Metro Boomin & TM88, as well as guest appearances by Bay Area native IAMSU! and Atlanta newcomer Madeintyo. The success of the EP lead to Gio opening up for Lil Uzi Vert in Boston earlier this year, and upon the second single off of the EP, entitled “Trap No More,” Gio made it clear that he would in fact, trap no more...

The rapper has been collaborating with some of hip-hop’s brightest stars, including Quentin Miller, long before he became known as “Drake’s ghostwriter.” Over the past year, the two have released countless songs together, including “The Ride,” “Sodium,” and “All Before” which was featured on Gio’s “Boslanta” EP (released in February 2016) and hit number three on Audiomacks Top Trending Songs list the same day it premiered.

Summer 2016 Gio opened up for IAMSU's 14 city "Eyes On Me Tour" with Mod Sun, Gravez and Salma Slims, and he’s been building some serious momentum, reaching over 2.4 million plays on SoundCloud. Most recently, Gio released a few singles in promotion for his upcoming project, Never Going Back, including “Sauce,” “777,” “128,” & “Geekers (ft. IAMSU).

Never Going Back

It's been a long road to success for Boston's Gio Dee, but he's finally getting his well deserved moment in the spotlight. With a sound unfamiliar to his natural born region, Gio has a talent that spans the ages, and transcends all borders; and on April 28, 2017 he finally delivered his debut album. Titled, "Never Going Back", the new 13 track album takes fans on a joyride of great sounds and even better storytelling. "We need bring the real", Gio stated about the project awhile back; and with tracks such as the Lil Rich assisted "Setbacks" to "Ride For Mine", that's exactly what we get. As far as features on the album, Gio tagged IAMSU!, Lil Rich, and Lisa Chanelle to led a hand on the project. When asked about his inspiration on the album, Gio said "Never Going Back' isn't just about me it's about us as an culture and how we need to keep pushing forward and not stay in the same position we have been in for the past decade"; and with this collection of new music, he helps us take the right step.
