Early life and family

Gianluca was born in the Italian city of Taranto, studied at the town’s local school Taranto, and is the youngest of two children in his family. Living most of his life in a beach house in his home town of Taranto in the south of Italy, he was taught to care for himself. His mother worked as a school principal while his father was a sales representative. During his teenage years Gianluca enjoyed his hobby of motocross while keenly and competitevely playing waterpolo in his local swimming club. He is now married to Rossella Milanovic, born in Belgrade Serbia, and has three children, Maja Minieri, Niccolo Minieri and Federico Minieri.

Education

Gianluca now holds an MBA with SAA Business School in Turin and a specialisation in finance through the pace university and the Manhattan institute of Management of new York.

Career

He joined from Monte dei Paschi in Ireland in 1999 where he was CEO and CIO and set up and led a €1.7 billion proprietary trading operation, Recently Minieri has been nominated among the most influential people in Trading and continues to hold this title to this day. After previously running proprietary trading at Banca 121 in Italy. Since 2007 Gianluca has been working together with Pioneer investments office located in Dublin but Gianluca oversees Pioneer Investments trading operations worldwide in Asia, the U.S.A. and Europe. With a core focus on building communication within the buy side community, Gianluca is looking to change how the buy side work together to help drive change and improve liquidity.
