Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC) is a department of Georgia Tech that deals with information security issues such as cryptography, network security, trusted computing, software reliability, privacy, and internet governance.
Contents
History
It was established in April 1998 after the Sam Nunn Information Security Forum, due to Georgia Tech's strengths in technology and policy, and a need for improved security research and education.
GTISC's current director is Wenke Lee. Mustaque Ahamad, Blaine Burnham, Richard DeMillo, and Ralph Merkle have previously served as the department's directors.
Faculty
GTISC has several dozen associated faculty members and many students from Colleges and Schools across the Georgia Tech campus. Researchers come from the Georgia Tech Research Institute as well as Georgia Tech's College of Computing, College of Liberal Arts, and School of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering.
