George Davis McDill was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography

McDill was born on July 28, 1838 in Wayne Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. During the American Civil War, he initially enlisted with the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army. Later, he served with the 37th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment, achieving the rank of captain. Events McDill took part in include the Second Battle of Bull Run, the Battle of South Mountain, the Battle of Antietam, the Battle of Fredericksburg, the Battle of Chancellorsville, the Battle of Gettysburg, the Siege of Petersburg and the Battle of Gainesville. McDill would marry Emma Ankeny. He died on June 15, 1899.

Political career

McDill was a member of the Assembly during the 1881, 1882 and 1883 sessions. Additionally, he was District Attorney and Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Polk County, Wisconsin. He was a Republican.
