Georg Duffner (born May 18, 1954 in Freiburg im Breisgau) has a graduate degree in economics and was the CEO of Röchling SE & Co. KG in Mannheim.
Duffner began his career in 1982 at Witzenmann GmbH, a medium-sized metal processing company in Pforzheim. Duffner initially started in the finance, accounting and controlling department after which he subsequently became IT project manager and then director of purchasing and materials logistics. He was the managing director of the company from 1990 to 1994.
In 1995, he was appointed CEO of the German activities of the French Vinci Group (formerly S.G.E.), the world market leader in concessions and construction services. In addition to his duties as CEO, Duffner was designated Spokesman of the Management Board of the G +H Group in 1996. Duffner was designated Spokesman of the Management Board of the Ludwigshafen-based G + H-Group (Grünzweig + Hartmann) in 1997, one of Vinci’s largest subsidiaries in Germany, before being appointed CEO of the Röchling Group in 2001. He has also been in charge of the Automotive Plastics division since 2001. On May 31, 2016 Georg Duffner left his position as CEO of the Röchling Group and joined the Advisory Board.
While studying business administration and economics at the University of Mannheim (where he received a German National Academic Foundation scholarship), Georg Duffner was an active member of the Maoist Communist League of West Germany (KBW), which fought for a communist world revolution. He ran as a candidate for the KWB in the former electoral district of 161 Kaiserslautern at the parliamentary elections in 1976, and in the electoral district of 175 Karlsruhe City in 1980.
