Geoff Byrd (born in Portland, Oregon on August 27, 1970) is an American musician. He has been credited as "the first artist to break into mainstream music by way of the internet." He is a singer/songwriter/producer/film maker who has written songs for country artist Samantha Landrum "I'm In Love," with John Oates and Jed Leiber on "1,000 Miles of Life," where they were nominated for a Nashville Music Award. Byrd co-wrote "When It Snows" with Jim Brickman, which went to #2 on the AC radio charts and is a perennial Christmas song (Byrd is the vocalist for that song as well). He also wrote top 40 Hot AC charting songs "Before Kings" along with internet hits "Silver Plated" and "When I Fall From Grace." (Radio Wave Monitor) He has also written "The Unsung Heroes" on the latest album from the band Kansas and has co-written "Dirty In Texas" with the band Anchored which charted in the Top 40 in Active Rock.

He wrote 3 theme songs with Josh Millman for "Cheerleader Nation" on Lifetime, "Top This Party" on Lifetime and "Wanna Go Fishing" on ESPN2. Byrd has over 700 placements on Film and TV placements with his original songs and toured the world in 2006 with Hall & Oates as the opening act for 50 shows throughout The U.S. & Canada. He has also performed as the opening act for Stevie Wonder, Seal, Kansas, Benny Mardones, American Hi Fi, Michael Penn, and many others. Byrd has directed music videos for Komox, with Bryce Soderberg from the band Lifehouse, with the song "Stardust." He also directed the video for "Raining Gold" for Komox.

Byrd also filmed and directed his own music videos like "Fly Free" and "When I Fall From Grace" with the help of incredible animators (credits listed on the youtube video pages for each song) Byrd wrote "The Light" with Billy Morrison from The Cult and LA band Camp Freddy, and has worked with Jed Leiber on several projects. He has also written several songs with Leiber who won a Grammy with Jeff Beck for Frankie's House and is the son of the late Jerry Leiber of the songwriting team Leiber and Stoller. Byrd and Leiber opened together for Hall and Oates and Stevie Wonder in L.A. Byrd was managed for several years by Phil Ehart (founding member and drummer for the band Kansas). Byrd was named artist of the year at Live 365 in 2004/2005 and was named highest rated artist of all time by his peers on the musician led website: garageband.com

Geoff Byrd was also a high school social studies teacher and a colorist at Dark Horse Comics before pursuing music full time. He still owns and operates geoffbyrd.com presently and is writing and recording new material that will be released in 2017/18. Byrd has also made several documentary shorts on radiomysterium.com and is a voice over actor and director and editor. He has also been on the Grammy ballot several times in categories like "Best New Artist" and "Best Pop Vocalist" and had a song "Silver Plated" written with Michael Page go to #1 on Internet Radio in 2005/2006 (Radio Wave Monitor). Byrd has worked with The Grammy Foundation as a speaker and representative. Byrd has also appeared on the cover of several trade magazines like Billboard and R&R (Radio & Records)

Byrd is also a photographer, designer and illustrator but his greatest passions are making music and movies and especially, writing songs. Byrd also scored, directed, edited, co-wrote and voiced a full length documentary called "The Last Formula." Byrd is continuing to collaborate with great songwriters like John Oates, Jed Leiber, Kansas, Billy Morrison, Samantha Landrum, and many other great artists. Byrd enjoys being under the radar, putting out records in several different genres, while still playing occasional surprise concerts in his home town of Portland Oregon. He is currently involved with many varied projects like scoring and directing films, writing songs, making documentaries and directing music videos.
