History

In 1981, GeoSouthern Energy was founded by George Bishop.

In May 2015, the second phase of development at GeoSouthern's corporate campus, Wildwood Corporate Centre, at The Woodlands started, including relocating two 100-year-old 60 feet tall oak trees.

In August 2015, Encana sold its Haynesville Shale natural gas portfolio to GeoSouthern, with about 300 wells across 112,000 acres, for $850 million.

The company's GeoSouthern DeWitt Properties, LLC subsidiary is producing oil and gas from Eagle Ford Group marine shale rock formations. Other subsidiaries include GeoSouthern Energy Partners, LP, and GeoSouthern Haynesville, LP, itself a joint venture between GeoSouthern Energy Corporation and GeoSouthern Energy Partners, LP.
