Genting Dream is a cruise ship for Dream Cruises. She was previously ordered as Genting World for Star Cruises. The ship is designed for the Asian cruise market and has a large number of restaurants, a casino and specially designed cabins.

The Genting Dream has a length of 335.33 metres (1,100 ft 2 in), a width of 39.7 metres (130 ft), a size of 150,695 GT, and a top speed of over 23 knots. The delivery was scheduled for autumn of 2016.

The construction of Genting Dream, the first ship of the premium cruise brand, Dream Cruises, was completed on October 12, 2016, and on the next day, the vessel will start sailing from Papenburg, Germany. Throwing light on the ship, Thatcher Brown, President of Dream Cruises said, “Genting Dream will make a stopover in Mumbai on October 29 at 7am, and depart at 5pm. She will reach Colombo on October 31; from thereon she will reach Singapore on November 4. She will have a two-day cruise in Singapore and on November 6, Genting Dream will embark on a journey to reach Hong Kong on November 12, and Guangzhou the next day. On the way, she will cruise to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.” Genting Dream will be home ported in Guangzhou. The second ship of Dream Cruises, World Dream will start sailing from October 24, 2017.

Genting Dream Genting Dream Delivered

The Genting Dream was ordered in October 2013 for Star Cruises and it should debut for Star Cruises as Genting World. Construction began on 9 February 2015.

The Genting Dream had debuted in November 2016, while her sister ship World Dream will enter service in November 2017.

On 19th August 2016, Genting Dream was floated out of dry dock.

From 20th November 2016 to 24th March 2017, Genting Dream is doing 2 itineraries with Hong Kong and Nansha as her homeports.

Hong Kong Weekend Getaway: 2 night Highseas Cruise from Hong Kong, departs every Friday and arrives back at Sunday.

Vietnam Reflections: 5 night cruise from Hong Kong or Guangzhou (Nansha), China to Da Nang and Hanoi (Halong Bay), Vietnam. Departs Sunday and arrives back at Hong Kong and Guangzhou on Friday

Future plan 1 (Okinawa Japan, From 2nd April 2017)

From 2nd April 2017, Genting Dream will be beginning a Japan Cruise itinerary to Okinawa, Japan. The homeports will still remain in Hong Kong and Nansha.

She will then provide 5 night cruises to Naha and Miyakojima in Okinawa, Japan as well as still provide 2 night highseas cruise from Hong Kong.

Future plan 2 (Singapore, From 3rd December 2017)

From 3rd December 2017, Genting Dream will homeport in Singapore for Malaysia cum Thailand itinerary and Indonesia itinerary.

During her Singapore deployment in this future plan, she will provide 2 night highseas cruises, 5 night cruises to Kuala Lumpur and Penang, Malaysia and Phuket, Thailand, 5 night cruses to Surabaya and North Bali, Indonesia. 12 Night Cruises for the 3 itineraries above combined will also be available.
