Geetha Parameswaran born in Kerala, Kottayam, India in 1943. She is now living in Calicut. She is retired as Professor of Chemistry from the University of Calicut. She has been contributing most of her life in Chemical Research. She has inspired many students to complete PhD and M.Phil in the same field. 19 Students have been awareded PhD degrees under her guidance. During the last 35 years of her research, she worked on metal complexes of Schiff base and related ligands.

Research Contributions
She has published 80 research papers in standard journals. She has been contributing for minor and major projects. In the year 2000, she won the Dr. Vasudeva Award for the best project of the year. She is currently continuing her research in molecular modeling of schiff bases complexes and two papers got published in international journals in 2010.
Currently she is engaged in Open Source Drug Discovery (OSDD)research conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). OSDD is a CSIR led team India Consortium with global partnership with the vision to provide affordable health care to the developing world by providing a global platform where the best minds can collaborate and collectively endeavor to solve the complex problems associated with discovering novel therapies for neglected tropical diseases like Tuberculosis, Malaria, Leishmaniasis, etc.
Family Background
She was born and brought up in Kerala, Kottayam. She is married to Parameswaran, Retired Joint Director of Agriculture. She has two children both of them postgraduated as Doctors, Venkatesh and Rajeswari.
