History

After its formation in 1940, the commercial agency developed into a production company for plastic-insulated cables and wires. In 1978, Gebauer & Griller delivered its first automotive cables to German OEMs and became an established supplier to the automotive industry. In the late 1990s, the use of aluminium for battery cable harnesses was made production-ready and patented. The company fitted premium vehicles with aluminium cables for the first time worldwide.

Gebauer & Griller is also a major supplier of cables for industrial installations and elevator construction, as well as special wires for welding applications, photovoltaic modules, electric motors and generators.

Gebauer & Griller operates 2 production sites in Austria, with one site each in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Moldova, India, China and Mexico. It has sales and development offices in Germany and the USA.
