Gary Winchester (born September 8, 1952) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the eighth round (121st overall) of the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft.

Winchester attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison to play four seasons (1970–1974) of NCAA hockey with the Wisconsin Badgers, scoring 40 goals and 44 assists for 84 points in 144 games played. He was rewarded for his outstanding play when he was named to the 1972 NCAA All-Tournament Team, and won the 1973 NCAA championship.
Winchester went on to play the 1974–75 season with the Denver Spurs of the Central Hockey League (1963–84), and played the 1974–75 season in both the International Hockey League and American Hockey League before hanging up his skates.
Personal
In December 2012, Gary, along with his NHL playing son Brad Winchester, were honoured by the Wisconsin Badgers when they were selected as honorary captains for the team's games held on December 13 and 14.
