The Garhwal Himalayas are mountain ranges located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The mountain ranges cross two regions: Garhwal division and Kumaon division.

Geology

This range is also a part of Himalaya Shivalik Hills, the outer most hills of the Himalaya located in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Demographics

The cities which are included in these ranges are Pauri, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli Gopeshwar, Almora, Ranikhet, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Chota Char Dham Pilgrimage namely Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. Some of the beautiful sites of the location are the hill stations of Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Tiuni, Nainital, Bhimtal and Kausani. UNESCO World Heritage Site, Valley of Flowers and Nanda Devi National Park is also located in Garhwal Himalaya.
