Publication history
The black garbug and violet garbug first appeared in the original first edition Fiend Folio (1981).
The black garbug and violet garbug appeared in the second edition in the Monstrous Compendium Fiend Folio Appendix (1992), and was reprinted in Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume One (1994).
Description
A garbug resembles a lobster, of either black or violet color, and has six tentacles around its mouth and a pair of insectile wings. The male garbug has a long proboscis and a glossy black exoskeleton, and the female garbug is a uniform violet of striking hue with the exception of her dark yellow set of strong claws on her topmost pair of limbs.
