Galaxy Express has played SXSW twice. Their first trip to the Austin festival was part of the Seoulsonic tour of 2011 alongside Idiotape and Vidulgi Ooyoo, during which they blew a fuse at the venue during their energetic performance. They returned to SXSW on their own in 2012, which gave them the opportunity to tour around North America more freely. This tour had them share the stage with Crying Nut, 3rd Line Butterfly, and Yellow Monsters. They have had other concerts in the United States, Canada, France, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Their travels were documented in the 2012 film Turn It Up to 11, Part 2: Wild Days.
