Gabriel Arce Hammond is an American film studio executive, producer and entrepreneur. He is currently the CEO of Broad Green Pictures, a fully integrated movie studio he started with his brother Daniel Hammond. He co-founded Alerian Capital Management in 2004, and the SteelPath MLP Funds in 2010.

Hammond grew up in a suburb of Washington, D.C.. He has a brother, Daniel. Hammond graduated from Johns Hopkins, but opted to forego an MBA degree. Hammond graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1997. He is pursuing his PhD in Psychology at Harvard University.

After graduating from Johns Hopkins, Hammond spent two years at Goldman Sachs. In 2004 he raised $5 million in capital and started Alerian Capital Management, a financial index provider in the energy infrastructure space. The company created the very first MLP index, The Alerian MLP Index, and the first MLP exchange-traded product based on an MLP Index. As of 2016, the company’s indexes underlie more than $13bb of exchange traded funds (ETFs).

In 2010 he launched the SteelPath MLP Funds, an energy infrastructure mutual fund family focused on the Master Limited Partnership asset class, creating the first MLP open-ended funds. The fund allowed investors to gain exposure to energy infrastructure through the MLP asset class. In December 2012 OppenheimerFunds, Inc. acquired SteelPath, which had $3.3 billion in assets under management.

In 2013, Gabriel Hammond produced Learning to Drive, directed by Isabel Coixet, with his brother Daniel Hammond. The film stars Patricia Clarkson, Ben Kingsley, Jake Weber and Sarita Choudrey and won the audience award at the Provincetown International Film Festival and People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. He also produced Break Point, a film starring Jeremy Sisto, David Walton, Amy Smart and J.K. Simmons. In 2014 he established Broad Green Pictures with his brother Daniel Hammond. The company was originally set up as a production company, but the brothers realized that in order to keep control of the film, it was necessary to handle the distribution internally and began building the production company into a full-fledged studio.

Today Broad Green Pictures is a fully integrated movie studio. The studio’s library of films includes A Walk in the Woods, Learning to Drive, 99 Homes and I Smile Back, as well as Break Point, Samba and Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups. Upcoming releases include The Infiltrator, and Bad Santa 2, a co-production with Miramax. The studio will also release Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time and his untitled project starring Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender.
