Biography
Gábor Fabricius is a media designer, film director and writer. MA graduate from Central Saint Martins Collage in London, his professors included Mike Figgis. His early interest was in music, fine art and media design. in 2000 Fabricius won golden Media Lion award at the Cannes Lions Festival, then moved towards directing shorts, music videos, documentaries and multimedia pieces.
In the turn of the millennia, Gábor Fabricius focused on social awareness campaigns with Ittvan.org, the non-profit foundation raising awareness in multiple social issues. He has been directing music videos, shortfilms, other cinematic, and multimedia initiatives. His cinematic creative collective, Otherside Stories develops scripts for moving image. Among these were Live (2007), the widely popular Sziget Festival documentary with soundtrack by Zagar or Bianka (2012) the story of a gipsy girl whose father was killed.
Since 2010, Fabricius has been a professor in Media Theory, Trends, Media Design and Visual Communication at the most prestigious applied art collage in Hungary, Moholy-Nagy Művészeti Egyetem, (MOME) in Budapest.
In 2010, his short, Grown Ups was premiered in Naoussa International Film Festival, Greece.
In 2012, his short, Bianka was premiered at 43th Hungarian Film Festival
In 2014 he set up Otherside, a cinematic creative collective.

In 2015 for directing and wrinting Skinner, Fabricius has won Zoltán Huszárik prize in Hungary.
In 2016 he shot "Dialogue" on migrant crisis, with Mátyás Erdély on real locations in Serbia, and at the newly installed barbed wire at the edge of the EU.
In 2016 his first novel, "Other Planet" is published by Europa. http://www.europakiado.hu
In 2016, "Other Planet" was nominated to Aegon literary prize.

In April 2009, Fabricius published his first novel Puha Neon Fejlövés (Soft Neon Headshots), that in the first week jumped on Libri Top cart. The collection of short stories deal with power, money and fame in media industry, he experienced during his past 10 years. The book tells the story of a newborn-yet-collapsing Eastern European capitalism.
