Early life
Concepción was born in San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines to Rolando "Rollie" Concepción and Lourdes Arellano. He attended the Ateneo de Manila, Aquinas School and Centro Escolar University.
Media career
Concepción first appeared in a 1980 Close-up commercial and became famous as the "Close-up boy" Introduced into showbiz at around the age of 15, he starred in the Regal Films production Katorse, which catapulted him to matinee idol status. From 1980–95, he made 80 films and had several modeling and endorsement deals.
Personal life
Concepción was married Sharon Cuneta from 1984–87. They have a daughter, actress and model Kristina Cassandra Concepción. He has a daughter, Miss Earth Sweden 2016 winner Cloie Helena Syquia Skarne from his marriage to Jenny Syquia in the early 1990s and a daughter, Ma. Gabrielle Ibuna Concepcion from a relationship with Grace Ibuna. In 2004, Concepción married long-time girlfriend Genevieve Yatco Gonzales in California; they have two daughters.
