G. S. Unni Krishnan Nair (b. 1964 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala) is Deputy Director of Agriculture in Department of Agriculture, Kerala and a Malayalam Writer. Authorship

G.S.Unni Krishnan is a popular science writer, science fiction writer, children’s writer, farm journalist Science film maker and novelist in Malayalam. He contributes articles and features regularly in Malayalam and English dailies and magazines since 1986. Unni Krishnan has published over 2000 popular science articles, farm features, science stories, etc. and 40 books also. He has also translated books published by Discovery channel into Malayalam. He has authored the first horror science fiction in Malayalam- "Chimera".He has scripted and directed over 200 television documentaries.

He has edited many books, magazines and newsletters including Kannimannu Magazine ,"Harithadalam" and "Green Life" newsletters "Annam Amrutham", a comprehensive book on Paddy in Kerala and a book on 100 years of Agricultural Department which were published by Farm Information bureau, Kerala and "Prakruthi geethangal",a compilation of environment related poems in Malayalam published by KSBB,Kerala .

Unni Krishnan won the National Science Communication Award of Department of Science and Technology from the government of India during 2008 for Science Popularization among Children, Award in the National Level Book Writing Competition organized by Ministry of Human Resource Development,India in 2002. He also won third prize in the National Chemistry Photography Competition organized by Vigyan Prasar in 2010, a State level Science Literature Award of the State Council for Science Technology and Environment during 2005 in Children’s Literature category and State Farm journalist Award (Karshaka Bharathi Award) in 2005. He won the 2009 Bhima Balasahithya Award and State Children’s Literature award twice.He has also won Kodungallur Balasahitya Samithi Children’s Literature award 2016. During 2015 and 2016 he won Bronze Beaver Award in the 'National Science Film Festival' organized by Vigyan Prasar. .Indian Medical Association -Electronic media Award was also won by G.S.Unnikrishnan.In the Eco-tale contest organized by Organic bps and UNEP during 2016,he has won third prize.
