Available Kit Lenses

Buyers can choose between 3 kit lenses:

  • XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS: It is made of metal and has a larger numeric aperture (2.8 compared to 3.5). This is a little more expensive (around $100.00 more) but it is also better quality. "XF" stands for "fine". This kit sells worldwide.
  • XC 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS II: It is made of plastic and with an aperture of 3.5 (compared to 2.8 on the 18-55mm). XC stands for "compact". In any case, this is a great lens to start off with on the X-T10. This kit sells only outside of Japan.
  • XF 35mm f/2 R WR: Standard monofocus lens. This kit sells only inside Japan.
  • Comparison with the top of the line Fuji X-T1

The newer Fuji X-T10 is very similar to the older, larger Fujifilm X-T1. Its price is lower even though it has the same sensor as the X-T1 (with 16 megapixels maximum resolution).

The Fuji X-T10 is more compact than the top of the line X-T1. It is not weather resistant (WR) and while it has different specifications such as the continuous shooting (more FPS), the EVF magnification and the dedicated ISO dial (not available on the Fuji X-T10, though the function can be assigned to any of the 7 dials). However, here are the pros and cons between the 2:

Fujifilm X-T1 advantages over Fujifilm X-T10:

  • MORE VIEWFINDER MAGNIFICATION: Get a bigger view of the scene through the eye-level viewfinder (0.77X vs 0.62X)
  • BIGGER JPEG BUFFER: Take more JPEG shots before waiting (burst mode - 30 vs 10 SHOTS)
  • BIGGER RAW BUFFER: Larger buffer for RAW shots (burst mode - 23 vs 7 SHOTS)
  • WEATHER SEALED: The weather sealing protects against the elements (yes vs none)
  • Fujifilm X-T10 advantages over Fujifilm X-T1:

  • LESS EXPENSIVE: Save money for lenses or accessories ($899 vs $1699)
  • NEWER: Newer cameras often support more advanced features (6 MONTHS vs 2 YEARS OLD)
  • INTERNAL FLASH: Useful in a pinch for fill flash (INTERNAL FLASH vs NONE, but X-T1 EXTERNAL FLASH set with BODY)
  • Common Strengths:

  • FOCUS PEAKING: Your camera will highlight what's in focus
  • TILTABLE SCREEN: Tilt the screen for shooting flexibility
  • EYE-LEVEL VIEWFINDER: You'll be able to frame photos even when the sun is out
  • IN-CAMERA PANORAMAS: Stitches multiple shots into a panoramic photo
  • BUILT-IN WI-FI: Share your photos wirelessly
  • ON-SENSOR PHASE DETECT: Usually improves live view and video AF performance
  • Common Weaknesses (both don't have the following):

  • TILT-SWIVEL SCREEN: Tilt and swivel the screen for maximum shooting flexibility
  • NFC: Simplifies pairing your camera with supported phones
  • TOUCHSCREEN: Select your focus point more intuitively
  • IN-CAMERA IMAGE STABILIZATION: Reduces the effects of camera shake
  • BUILT-IN GPS: Geotag your photos
  • TOP DECK DISPLAY: Check settings with a screen on top of the camera
  • DUAL CARD SLOTS: Gives storage flexibility
  • SLOW-MOTION VIDEOS
  • Accessories

There isn't a large selection of accessories for this camera yet - most probably due to the fact that it was release a only few months ago. However, you can find the below accessories from Fuji:

  • Leather Case (BLC-XT10)
  • Hand Grip (MHG-XT10)
  • Stereo Microphone (MIC-ST1)
  • Shoe Mount Flash
  • M Mount Adapter
  • Macro Extension Tube (MCEX-16/MCEX-11)
  • Specifically:

Leather Case: The genuine leather case is designed to fit the camera body, helping to keep the camera protected and ensure a solid hold.

Hand Grip: The metal grip provides a secure hold. The tripod mounting socket is aligned with the optical axis and the battery can be replaced without removing the grip.

Stereo Microphone: Make realistic voice recordings for your high-quality Full HD videos.

Shoe Mount Flash: There are three types of FUJIFILM external flash, all of which are capable of high-precision TTL auto flash control. The EF-20 and EF-X20 both have a guide number of 20, while EF-42 has a guide number of 42.

M Mount Adapter: A mount adapter that allows the use of a wide variety of M Mount lenses on the X Mount camera body. It also features electronic contacts for communicating signals with the camera body and a function button to allow users to easily choose necessary settings and functions (Shoot Without Lens, focal length settings, various image corrections, etc.).

Macro Extension Tube: Two tubes (16mm and 11mm) are available for fitting between the camera body and an interchangeable lens to enable high magnification macro photography.
