Frontier Restaurant is a landmark New Mexican cuisine restaurant, located near the University of New Mexico, in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The restaurant has a Western design, with artwork and images related to the American Southwest and The Duke throughout.

History
The current location known as the Frontier Restaurant was the site of Chisum's Drugstore, which contained a popular soda fountain. The current restaurant was started in 1971 by a couple from Austin, Texas, who served cowboy Tex-mex, chuckwagon, and Mexican foods. They didn't incorporate New Mexican food into their menu right away, until a dishwasher named Eddie Montoya showed the owners the local cuisine.
Today
Their most recognized menu items include their sweet rolls, green chile cheeseburgers, green chile stew, and red/green chile burritos. They also serve other New Mexican fare like, huevos rancheros, enchiladas, hamburgers, sandwiches, and steak.
