The Front Country Ranger District is Located in the San Bernardino National Forest. It hosts two Ranger Stations, Lytle Creek and Mill Creek.

Recreational activities
The Front Country Ranger District has one Campground Applewhite Campground in Lytle Creek, CA, four Picnic areas, Applewhite, Lost Lake In Cajon Pass, CA, Falls, Thurman Flats in Forest Falls, California and 5 Group Campgrounds Council, Coon Creek, Heart Bar, Lobo, and Oso all located in the Mill Creek Ranger District . The Front Country Ranger District also Hosts Hiking, Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Tracks, and fishing.
Major highways and roads
Front Country Ranger District can be accessed by these roads. To get to Mill Creek use California State Route 38. To get to Lytle Creek, CA use Interstate 15 To Sierra Avenue and turn onto Lytle Creek Road.
Volunteer opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are through the Mill Creek Volunteers, San Gorgonio Wilderness Association, Lytle Creek Volunteers At Lytle Creek volunteer through the Lytle Creek Forest Volunteers Association or a Volunteer Coordinator.
Lytle Creek
Lytle Creek is one of the most popular of the Front Country Ranger District because of Applewhite Campground and Applewhite Picnic Area also in Lytle Creek, CA across from Applewhite Campground. the picnic area has a waterfall under the bridge of Sycamore Drive in Lytle Creek, California inside the picnic area. Lytle Creek is popular for hiking and fishing.
Mill Creek
Mill Creek has very limited activities. It has Group Campgrounds, Picnic Areas and, hiking trails.
Winter sports
Much of the Front Country Ranger District is at a lower elevation and does not get much snow. Snowboarding and skiing are not recommended but snow sledding is acceptable if snow accrues. Mountaintop Ranger District (Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear) and Winter Resorts are recommended by the Front Country Ranger District.
