Freydoon Shahidi (born June 19, 1947) is an Iranian American mathematician who is a Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Purdue University in the U.S. He is known for a method of automorphic L-functions which is now known as the Langlands–Shahidi method. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2010. In 2012 he became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
