Frederic Lincoln Chapin (13 July 1929 – 8 September 1989) was a United States diplomat. He was the ambassador to Ethiopia and Guatemala. He was also Chargé d'affaires ad interim in Chad for four month following the establishment of Embassy Fort Lamy (now N'Djamena) on February 1, 1961. He was the son of Selden Chapin, United States ambassador to the Netherlands, Peru and Iran. His cousin, Hope Cook was the Queen of Sikkhim.
