Francois Willie Cloete (born 15 March 1989) is a South African politician and Former National Treasurer and Spokesperson for Front National.

Early life and career

Cloete was born in Pretoria and is the eldest child of Willie and Elize Cloete. His father is also involved in politics as he had served as Deputy Leader of Front National and now leader of the National Conservative Party of South Africa. Cloete completed his matric at High School Gerrit Maritz that is situated North of Pretoria in 2007 where he also participated rugby, jukskei and athletics. He was on the Learner Council for his school.

Cloete is a qualified accountant and holds a BCom degree from the University of Pretoria. He served as Deputy Speaker of the University of Pretoria Student Parliament and Ex Officio member of the Student Representative Council in 2011.

He plays provincially Jukskei for Gauteng North and was chosen in April 2015 for the South African Junior Men's team that toured Namibia in May 2015.

Freedom Front Plus

Cloete served on different structures in the Freedom Front Plus which he joined in 2009. He stood as candidate for the party in Tshwane in the 2011 municipal elections. He served on the Pretoria Region & Gauteng Executive Committees and Federal Council of the party. He was appointed in 2012 as Deputy Youth Leader of Gauteng. He left the party in late 2012.

Federal Freedom Party

He founded the Federal Freedom Party (Afrikaans : Federale Vryheidsparty) together with several other members of different Afrikaner organisations in October 2012. He served as National Secretary and Spokesperson for the party.

Front National

In December 2013 the Federal Freedom Party together with the Boere Krisis Aksie and other Afrikaner Organisations founded the Front National. Cloete served in the beginning as National Youth Leader and was also on the National party list for the general elections. He finished second on the Gauteng Legislature for the party. He was later promoted to National Spokesperson for the party in late 2014 and was elected at the May 2015 National Congress as Treasurer of the party. He resigned from the party on 28 February 2016 after the party split in two after faction outbreak in Front National but he yet to announce if officially joined the newly formed National Conservative Party of South Africa.

African Mandate Congress

On 31 May 2016 the African Mandate Congress was registered at Independent Electoral Commission and it also registered to contest the local elections on 2 June 2016. When the candidate lists was released by the IEC the name of Cloete appeared as number 1 candidate for the African Mandate Congress in Tshwane. The party announced on 6 July 2016 that Cloete is the party leader and Mayoral candidate for the party in Tshwane. The policy according to press release and website of the party is that they want to create smaller municipalities with article 235 of the South African constitution and Municipal Demarcation Act.
