France sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. France sent 119 athletes, who competed in 13 sports: athletics, rowing, cycling, equestrian, wheelchair fencing, powerlifting, judo, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, shooting, archery and sailing. The country's flagbearer during the Games' opening ceremony was Assia El'Hannouni, who won four gold medals at the Athens Paralympics.
