It is located on a 670m high hill, three miles from Forcarei, on the road from A Estrada.

Equipment and facilities

It is a two floor building: the first floor, with several outbuildings; at the second one, with a 4m dome, is the main telescope: a 40 cm reflector with a focal aperture of 4 meters equipped with a CCD camera.

History

The observatory was open the 13th of march of 2009. The first public night sessions were the same year after Easter. As part of the "Astronomy International Year" was hosted the 1st Astronomical Meeting.
