The album's sound has been described as melodic hardcore, post-hardcore, emo, art rock, post-rock, and shoegazing.
Production
It was recorded with producer Will Yip at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
Release
It was made available for streaming through NME on 14 September, 2012 and released a few days later through SideOneDummy Records. The album's first music video "Head in the Ceiling Fan" was directed by Grey Zine guitarist Evan Evans. "Secret Society" was the first single released and was also featured in a music video directed by Hannah Roman.
Reception
It peaked at number 69 on the Billboard Top 200. The album was included in TheWaster's top albums of 2012 list.
