Finland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Crystal Bay Township, Lake County, Minnesota, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 195. Crosby Manitou State Park is located 7 miles northeast of Finland. The community is located within the Finland State Forest in Lake County. CommunityFinland is home to a community center, one Lutheran church, (which was apparently struck by lightning on 6 July, 2013 and burned down), a post office, Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, and the Organic Consumer's Association. Local business establishments include a gas station, a motel, four bars, and a cooperative general store. HistoryA post office called Finland has been in operation since 1915. A large share of the early settlers being natives of Finland caused the name to be selected.
