Fideris (Romansh: Fadrein) is a municipality in the Prättigau/Davos Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.

History
Fideris is first mentioned in 1370 as Fidris.
Geography
Fideris has an area, as of 2006, of 25.3 km2 (9.8 sq mi). Of this area, 60.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 27.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 2.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (9%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
Before 2017, the municipality was located in the Jenaz sub-district of the Prättigau/Davos district, after 2017 it was part of the Prättigau/Davos Region. It is a cross shaped linear village which lies on the Prättigau-Schanfigg route. It consists of the village of Fideris which is made up of the sections of Strahlegg and Fideris-Au.
Demographics
Fideris has a population (as of 31 December 2015) of 600. As of 2007, 3.5% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has decreased at a rate of -1.8%.
As of 2000, the gender distribution of the population was 48.6% male and 51.4% female. The age distribution, as of 2000, in Fideris is; 97 children or 16.6% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old and 78 teenagers or 13.3% are between 10 and 19. Of the adult population, 54 people or 9.2% of the population are between 20 and 29 years old. 94 people or 16.0% are between 30 and 39, 75 people or 12.8% are between 40 and 49, and 50 people or 8.5% are between 50 and 59. The senior population distribution is 61 people or 10.4% of the population are between 60 and 69 years old, 51 people or 8.7% are between 70 and 79, there are 24 people or 4.1% who are between 80 and 89 there are 2 people or 0.3% who are between 90 and 99.
In the 2007 federal election the most popular party was the SVP which received 39.8% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the FDP (38.7%), the SP (15%) and the CVP (3.3%).
The entire Swiss population is generally well educated. In Fideris about 72.1% of the population (between age 25-64) have completed either non-mandatory upper secondary education or additional higher education (either university or a Fachhochschule).
Fideris has an unemployment rate of 0.35%. As of 2005, there were 77 people employed in the primary economic sector and about 28 businesses involved in this sector. 62 people are employed in the secondary sector and there are 14 businesses in this sector. 98 people are employed in the tertiary sector, with 16 businesses in this sector.

Languages
Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks German (96.4%), with Portuguese being second most common ( 1.2%) and Romansh being third ( 0.7%). In the early Middle Ages the entire population spoke Romansh. However, in the 14th Century the Walser migration brought Walser German speaking immigrants to the valley. By the time of the Protestant Reformation the majority of the inhabitants of the village spoke German.
