Fidel Namisi is a Kenya born screenwriter currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He holds a Dramatic Arts degree from the University of the Witwatersrand where he was awarded the Leontine Sagan award, the EJA Loerinnz scholarship and was admitted to the Golden Key Honours Society. He is also a produced playwright of various television and film projects including "Hear Me Move", a South African dance film.

Career
Fidel began his career as a screenwriter on South African television drama "Zone 14" in 2010, A Place Called Home in 2007 and Soul Buddy in 2006. In 2012 he produced three television films, of which one of them, the "Tooth And Nails" won him the 2013 Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy Writing. In 2013 he was the show runner on a musical drama series titled "Remix". In 2014 he wrote the script and produced South Africa's first dance film titled "Hear Me Move". In 2015 he was nominated for 2 Writers Guild of South African awards for Best Unproduced Script for "Bring Back Lost Lover" and for Best Television Comedy "The Call Centre".
Fidel is also an entrepreneur and has co-founded Coal Stove Pictures, a film and TV production company which he founded with his university schoolmates.
