In Barcelona Tarrida del Mármol wrote articles in the magazines "Anarchy", La Revista Blanca and El Productor, collaborating with Federico Urales and Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia. He coined the term ' anarchism without adjectives', a call for more tolerance amongst the divided anarchist factions. He was imprisoned and then fearful for this life took refuge first in France and then England where he became involved with the Fabians.
