Farrukh Khan Pitafi (born July 9, 1976) is a Pakistani bilingual columnist, talk show host and analyst. Working for country’s only terrestrial and largest Urdu television network PTV News he regularly co-hosts an interactive show ‘Capital View’ Friday through Sunday at 10 PM Pakistan Standard Time. He also hosts a show ‘Politics Today’ that appears every Monday and Tuesday at 9 PM PST on country’s only English news channel PTV World. As a columnist Pitafi has been associated with country’s all major news establishments for the past 17 years. Presently he writes a weekly English column for Express Tribune daily. In addition his Urdu columns appear in Roznama Dunya. He also contributes from time to time to Dawn.com. Pitafi’s forays into journalism began when he was still a student. Seventeen years ago when he started contributing a regular column to a local daily he was the widely considered the youngest English columnist of the country. His television career started immediately after his graduation from the university when he joined the country’s only television news network of the time. Since then he has worked for various major television networks, newspapers, tailored a successful national election campaign, worked for media development organizations and appeared on a number of national networks as a political expert. Pitafi holds a Masters degree from Quaid-e-Azam University and a number of post graduate diplomas and certificates from numerous other institutions. He is married and has two children. In his career as a television interviewer he has interviewed various senior Pakistani and regional politicians. Also various foreign leaders.
