Route description
The southern terminus of FM 2978 is at FM 2920 just east of the Tomball city limits. The road travels north along Hufsmith–Kohrville Road, through the community of Hufsmith and along the western boundary of The Woodlands. The northern terminus is at FM 1488 near the unincorporated community of Egypt.
History
FM 2978 was first designated by TxDOT in 1965. Its route has remained unchanged since its initial designation.
