Faraar collected overall ₹1.07 crore (US$160,000) from 84 screens at the overseas box office in the first weekend making it third highest opening of 2015 after Sardaar Ji and Angrej. Faraar in its second week grossed a total of ₹1.94 crore (US$290,000) in the international markets in 10 days.
Critical response
Faraar garnered rave reviews from the critics of Punjabi cinema. ABP Sanjha gave very good review to the movie. One of the leading website says, "Faraar is a revenge saga, which has the power to sweep you off your feet from the word 'go'. It has a gripping story ....and a knockout performance by Gippy Grewal." Jasmine Singh of The Tribune gave 4 stars out of 5 and termed movie as good to watch.
