Profiles

Fans of Jimmy Century are an electronic/pop/indie dance music group with hypnotic grooves, trip hop obsession, and a love for modern noir. They originated in San Francisco, but now call the lively city of Las Vegas, Nevada, home. "Fans, Fans of Jimmy, Jimmy Century, or FOJC" is headed up by the talented vocalist Alicia Perrone and gifted guitarist Victor James. Originally formed in 2007, the band is known for songs such as "Va Va Voom to the Moon," "International," "Mr. Las Vegas," "Blonde Ambition," and "Hot Sahara" which helped steam up Showtime's The L Word in 2008, in a sexy scene known by L Word fanatics as "The Hot Sahara Scene." Hot Sahara went on to climb to #23 on the FMQB Top Dance Radio Charts, with heavy support and airplay on Energy 92.7 SF KNGY and Pulse 87 NYC. Additional Features include Ugly Betty, Samantha Who, and The Hills among others. In 2013, Va Va Voom to the Moon received strong support from Las Vegas' top pop station, Mix 94.1FM.

Simon Stinger (previous band name)

Fans of Jimmy Century were previously known as Simon Stinger. Alicia Perrone and Victor James were in the process of signing to Elektra Records in 2004 with then senior A&R of Elektra Ric Ocasek from The Cars. The record label went through a series of changes and ownership which caused multiple delays and eventually prevented the signing of Simon Stinger. Simon Stinger's track "French Connection" was iTunes Single of the Week during the month of May in 2004.

Twist of the Banshees (LP)

Hot Sahara was the first single from the full-length album "Twist of the Banshees" released in 2007. The band's next CD release was "The Remixes of Hot Sahara & Blonde Ambition." Fans of Jimmy Century were championed by Dancemusic.About.com who awarded them with charting and nods for both "Global Domination," and "Top 10 Dance Record." After faring well with the dance crowd, their electronic dance sounds gained them an invitation to speak on the "Clubland’s Hitmakers" panel at DJ Times-sponsored DJ Expo 2008 in Atlantic City alongside dance acts Lady Gaga & Jes.

Head Go Whoosh (EP)

In 2009, Fans of Jimmy Century released their EP, "Head Go Whoosh," featuring their first single of 2009, "Lola Like This," along with "International," "Hush Madame X," and "Hearts Are Mustangs." This EP marks the additional songwriting collaboration of drummer Allen Chiu. "Head Go Whoosh" highlights the temptations of summer, just as Hot Sahara did in 2007-08.

Va Va Voom to the Moon (debut single)

In September 2013, Fans of Jimmy Century released their debut single, "Va Va Voom to the Moon," under a newly signed contract between labels Butown Ent./SSMG/Bungalo Records/UMGD. Following the release of their single, "Va Va Voom to the Moon," Fans Of Jimmy Century released their Music Video produced by Randy Sterns and directed by Billy Clift cousin of Montgomery Clift, via Vevo thanks to Universal Music Group Distribution. The music video has been a natural transition from indie artists into mainstream musicians. Fans Of Jimmy Century are able to maintain their unique indie ties while threading popular trends as depicted in Va Va Voom to the Moon's Music Video.

Some well known guest appearances such as a member of the Jabbawockeez and UFC's Liz Carmouche participated in the Music video. Liz Carmouche adopted the EuroTrash Collective remix of Va Va Voom to the Moon as her official UFC walk-out song stating, "It inspires me with confidence…the inspiration that Alicia and Victor put into it and how it made me feel…I liked the message behind it which ultimately led to me changing my walkout song."

Not to be confused with the Va Va Voom song of Nicki Minaj or other auto-designating Va Va Voom titles, Fans of Jimmy Century's Va Va Voom to the Moon captures their own, unique and interesting style.
