The Faculty of Sport (Portuguese:Faculdade de Desporto (FADEUP)) is the sports faculty of the University of Porto, in Porto, Portugal. FADEUP is a top-level sports school and according to the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments, is rated as the 23rd best school of sport in the world, and the 11th in Europe. Porto Biomechanics Laboratory (LABIOMEP) is hosted by this faculty which is one of the three best biomechanics laboratories in Europe in terms of equipment and technology.

    FADEUP publishes two main journals:

  • Portuguese Journal of Sport Sciences
  • Archives of Exercise in Health and Disease is an online journal publishing original research articles, reviews and letters to the editor analyzing the advantages/disadvantages of acute or chronic physical exercise repercussions in health and disease of humans or laboratory animals.
  • Library

    FADEUP library, specialized and constantly updated, with more than 20,000 volumes offers wide range of services to students and faculty members. Other services include training users, photocopies, etc. FADEUP library has been subscribed to more than 50 scientific journals. Notably, Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly, American Journal Sports Medicine, Applied Psychological Measurement, International Journal Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism, International Journal of Sports Physiology and Performance, Journal of Aging and Health, Journal of Applied Biomechanics, and Journal of Physical Activity and Health. Some of the journal can be available by IP address and some of them have restricted access with password.
