History

Polimlje was founded in 1938 but did not participate in official competitions until 1996. In that period, Polimlje played in the Fourth League - North, with clubs like Tekstilac, Gorštak, Komovi, GIR and Brskovo. In the first seasons it met with little success, losing most of its matches. Better results followed, but until the '90s the club from Murino played in the Fourth league.

In 1994 Polimlje achieved the greatest success in its history: the club became champion of the Fourth League - North and was promoted to the Third league. In that season, Polimlje achieved 13 wins with only 5 draws and 2 loses. In its first season in the Third League, Polimlje finished in 14th place, but in its second season was relegated back to Fourth league - North. It has remained there ever since, although with the independence of Montenegro this league was reclassified as the Third League.

Rivalry

In the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s Polimlje matches were watched by many fans who chose FK Jezero and FK Gusinje as their biggest rivals.
