CFR Timișoara is a Romanian football team from Timișoara, Timiş County founded in 1933. It plays in the Liga V in the 2016–17 season.

Contents

The team's best season was the 1947–48 one, when they finished second in the 1947–48 Divizia A and reached the Romanian Cup final. However UTA Arad managed to beat them in both legs.

History

It was founded in 1919 as Sparta CFR Timișoara. It merged in 1926 with Unirea Timișoara and took on the name Sparta Unirea CFR Timișoara. In 1927 the club was dissolved. It was founded again five years later, in 1933, as CFR Timișoara.
