Exeter High School is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school located on Glen-Ard-Mohr Road in Exeter in northern Tasmania, Australia. The school was opened in 1985 by the then premier, Robin Gray.

History
The school was established as the Exeter State School in 1909. Following a merger, with other state schools, it became the West Tamar Area School in 1940. There followed further name changes, to Exeter Area School in 1954 and then to Exeter District High School in 1973. On 5 November 1985 the school was split into primary and secondary schools with the secondary streams forming Exeter High School.
Co-Curriculum
The school participates in a number of local and inter-state co-curriculum activities. Exeter prides itself on its sporting achievements, having teams across all four grades in netball, Australian rules football, soccer, athletics, swimming and cross-country endurance racing. The school participates and achieves excellent results annually in a number of Australia-wide run academic competitions like the ICAS competitions.
Student Leadership Council
The Student Leadership Council, (colloquially known as 'The SLC') is a council of traditionally sixteen students, elected by current members of the school, to act as a representative team on behalf of the students. The SLC is topped by two Co-Presidents and followed by one secretary, one treasurer, one activities officer, two liaison officers (working with the parents and friends committee,) three house captains, two student support officers, one charities officer, one fundraising officer, one publicity officer and The SLC organise events such as the hugely popular whole-school social dances and events in aid of selected charities as well as raising concern on behalf of students within the school amongst higher authority.
Houses
The school's student body is divided into three houses; Oonah (red, platypus), Lenah (yellow, kangaroo) and Quoiba (red, wombat), named in aboriginal tribute of their mascots. Each house is run under the guidance of its elected house captain (also a member of the SLC.) The house point system is put into effect at school Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletic carnivals, with students gaining points for their house through participation and placing. The winning house of each event is rewarded with their house name and year engraved on the selected activity's shield.
