European Parliament election, 2004 (Greece)

The European Parliament election of 2004 in Greece for the election of the delegation from Greece to the European Parliament took place on June 13. The election system used in Greece was a party-list proportional representation with a 3% threshold for any party. The number of seats allocated to Greece was 24.

Results

The 2004 European election was the sixth election to the European Parliament. The ruling New Democracy party made strong gains, while the opposition Panhellenic Socialist Movement made smaller gains, both at the expense of minor parties. The traditional party, Popular Orthodox Rally contested the election for the first time and elected a Euro Member of Parliament.
