The Euro-Atlantic Center (EAC) is a Slovak nonprofit, nonpartisan, non-governmental organization specializing in the field of international relations and security issues. The EAC was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Banská Bystrica, with a regional office in Bratislava.

Aims

The EAC has two main goals:

  1. Towards its members - to train young leaders and help them prepare for their future careers. In addition to leadership skills, it also seeks to develop managerial, journalistic, moderating, analytical and networking skills. Through active participation in EAC activities, members gain practical knowledge that boosts their career prospects.
  1. Towards society - to inform and educate young people and the public at large about topics related to international and domestic security issues and foreign affairs, focusing on NATO and the European Union.

  • lectures with special guests (decisionmakers, politicians, experts, opinion leaders)
  • Youth Advisory Council (with US Embassy in Slovakia)
  • national coordinator for ALIANTE, a knowledge competition for high school students (http://www.project-aliante.org/sk/)
  • main organizer of the Slovak Security Forum (Slovenské bezpečnostné fórum), a leading annual foreign and security policy conference aimed at the national public
  • assistance with the GLOBSEC Bratislava Global Security Forum [3], one of the world's top five security conferences
